If you plan on using ASP.NET, you will need to enable this on your web site. There is a link in the WebsiteOS to enable Windows Services. Once its enabled, your ASP.NET pages will work from within the /public folder. Be sure to upload your ASP.NET pages before enabling ASP.NET on your site. ASP.NET normally will be enabled within minutes of activating it.

Supported files:
Master files

Dlls and codebehind will only be supported on ASP.NET 2.0. All new customers will be able to use dlls and codebehind. Existing customers wishing to use dlls and codebehind, can simply disable and re-enable ASP.NET from their WebsiteOS control panel. This will take 1 day to provision. Customers are responsible for testing their code before moving to our systems.

Customers are responsible for troubleshooting their code on a development system and providing techs with details of what their code is supposed to do, if the site is not performing according to their needs. While coding customers need to be aware that files are not stored locally. All customer files are stored on a network share, using dynamic paths. Customers are advised not to hard code paths in their code, but to use Server.mappath to point to their files.

Our servers and file systems are constantly being monitored. If any site is found trying to access restricted resources or if admins suspect a site is degrading systems performance. ASP.NET services for that site will be suspended and the customer will be contacted.

All Dlls should only be places in the public/bin folder. If the customer wishes to run an application from a folder other than the public folder. A ticket can be submitted requesting the folder be converted to an application folder. The customer can then setup a bin folder within that folder and move dlls to that folder.

Changes made to files and folders may not be visible immediately in ASP.NET. Due to performance reasons, we have the File and folder monitoring feature of ASP.NET disabled. This prevents ASP.NET from constantly monitoring resources and recycling the applications, which takes up system resources. Customers are advised to make any changes to their files on the development environment and then upload to our servers.
ASP.NET is set to recycle the application every 120 mins. Session time our is set to 20 mins.

Some Ajax features may not work on our hybrid system. A ticket can be submitted to techs with a request to have features add. This will be researched and tested. Once approved the feature will be enabled on our hybrid system.
